In Solidarity with Palestine

ANNISAA Organization of Canada stands in unwavering solidarity with all innocent civilians, frontline journalists, and frontline medical/aid relief workers in Palestine whose lives are at risk, who have been killed, or are grieving the loss of a loved one.

ANNISAA acknowledges that every innocent life is immensely valuable irrespective of faith and ethnicity, as well as what many will not or are not permitted to acknowledge: every innocent life lost matters just the same. As an organization committed to promoting the livelihoods of Muslim women and youth through educational enrichment, healthy living and social development, we believe in the fundamental principles of justice, dignity, and respect for all individuals.

With the Israeli occupation existing for over seven decades, there are many Palestinians whose entire lives, from birth to death, have been overshadowed by bombardment, funerals, poverty, and the usurpation of their most fundamental rights.

However, what they are currently facing is the most atrocious of times thus far during this occupation. Israel’s treatment of Palestinians has not been any more humane. One does not need to be a UN or ICC representative to comprehend that initiating a humanitarian crisis and exterminating civilians is never a viable solution nor merely an act of defense.

We call for a just and equitable resolution to this crisis that respects international laws and the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

Here in Canada, we are witnessing a high increase in Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism. As usual, this is especially impacting visibly Muslim women who have reported a peak in harassment and anti-Muslim speech. We call for all levels of government, law enforcement agencies, and educational institutions to support ALL Canadians equitably, as guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom and human rights laws across the country.

Our heartfelt condolences to all those harmed by this violence, and we extend our support to the families who have lost a loved one or are struggling to cope with their sorrow for Palestine.

We encourage donations to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).
