About Us
Welcome to ANNISAA Organization of Canada
At ANNISAA, we are committed to transforming the landscape of leadership for Muslim women in the Greater Toronto Area. Since our founding in 2012, we have been a catalyst for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in professional environments, bringing together a vibrant network of women dedicated to advancing their careers and shaping their communities.
Our mission is clear: to empower Muslim women at every stage of their leadership journey. By providing personalized mentorship, innovative training, and vital resources, we equip women to overcome challenges, unlock opportunities, and excel in their careers. ANNISAA is more than an organization—it is a movement dedicated to creating a world where women can lead confidently and redefine their paths to success.
We understand the unique barriers faced by women in navigating their professional and personal lives. That’s why our approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and cultural awareness. ANNISAA takes a proactive and holistic approach to ensuring that women are supported, celebrated, and inspired to thrive—on their terms, at their own pace.
With a focus on meaningful impact, ANNISAA connects women to a powerful network of professionals, tools, and experiences, helping them reimagine their futures. Together, we’re building a community where every woman has the confidence and capacity to lead with purpose.
Join us in empowering Muslim women to achieve, lead, and inspire.
Land Acknowledgement
ANNISAA extends our profound respect and immeasurable gratitude to all the ancestors and keepers of the land on whose traditional territories our work takes place. We recognize that the ANNISAA Organization of Canada is located on the unceded territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13, signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaty, signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. This land is sacred, historical, and significant.
Ancestral Acknowledgement
Every time we acknowledge this truth, we have an invitation and an opportunity to reflect on the wrongs of the past, what we do in the present, and what we can do to continually honour the people whose lands and water we benefit from today.
This statement only acts as a first step in honouring the land we reside on and its peoples and must be paired with education, understanding and informed action.
We also acknowledge all treaty peoples – including those who came here as settlers – as migrants either in this generation or in generations past - and those of us who came here involuntarily, particularly forcibly dis-planted Africans, brought here as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and slavery.
